Viking Recreation Center is now closed.

Many of you know Fred Thompson, owner of Viking Recreation Center.  Well, it's time for Fred to retire and the property is in the process of being sold.  What many of you may not have known is that for over 30 years Fred and business partner Phil Hamric co-owned Viking and Timber Lanes in Abington.  Last June, Fred and Phil agreed to end the partnership so each could move on.  As a result, they each now own 100% of the bowling centers they ran.

Timber Lanes, on route 18 in Abington, is alive and well.  So far over 100+ league bowlers and senior bowlers have moved to Abington.  We'd like to extend an invitation to all of Viking's former customers to visit Timber Lanes next time you get the urge to have some fun candlepin bowling.  We will also honor all gift certificates (even if expired!) and will also honor all Groupons (even if expired!).  We will also honor all free games passes.

If you joined the Kids Bowl Free program, we are also a member of this great national program.  The member database (including family passes) has been merged with the Timber Lanes database and you can continue using this great program here until October 31!

If you visit us any day after 5 pm please stop in and check out our Squires Loft Lounge featuring all your favorite beer (bottles and 7 draft taps), wine and spirits.  We also offer a wide variety of great appetizer food.  You can watch your favorite sports team on one of our three 50" plasma TV's.

Just like Viking, we offer many fun programs for birthday parties, fundraising, cosmic bowling and more!  Please take a moment and check out our website....
